Bye Election
I am standing in the election for a seat on the Town Council in Lydney East on August 19th. Please spread the word and if anyone has any questions or comments, they can contact me here or email me on carolinedmoor@gmail.com.
My pledges are:
Our Community: I support the provision of facilities,
especially for young people, the vulnerable and the elderly. I
support free Wifi for all in the town.
Our Health and Wellbeing: I support the NHS Services,
local schools and GP Surgeries. I will do all I can to keep
Lydney Hospital open.
Our High Street: I will support Lydney’s Regeneration and
Covid-19 Recovery Plan. I support small and local businesses.
I support the expansion of our local outdoor market.
Our Environment: I will lobby the district council to defend
our climate from imminent disaster and pledge to support
improved flooding provisions. I will defend our town against
fracking and other inappropriate industrial planning.
I will support recreation projects and recycling provisions.
Accountability: I believe in openness and transparency for
council decision making and budget scrutiny. I will push for the
publication of a register of council services, and
announcements of contract opportunities for local businesses.
I will put Lydney residents at the heart of the council, use
the council website and social media to create an open
dialogue.
Your Town Council: With the support of the Labour group,
Lydney Town Council has produced a strong budget and
delivered no increase in the town rates. They have funded a
regeneration programme that will bring much needed funding
into the town and developed a forward looking environmental
plan. They support the Youth Hub, as well as investment in
the future of the Harbour as a first class facility for residents and
visitors.
With your support we can do even more for our historic town.
