Labour launched its manifesto today to great enthusiasm, with a raft of exciting policies that promise to turn the UK around for the better. Change, investment, growth, accountability, delivering economic stability for the country, and uplifting our services to the shining examples of the world they once were.
Labour will bring accountability to the water companies polluting our rivers, levying fines against polluters, stripping the bonuses from CEOs, and threatening criminal charges for the worst offenders. Farmers will be supported, with new drives for locally produced food around the country. The NHS will be properly funded, through ending tax loop holes for the rich and powerful, and given the technology it needs to take healthcare into the future.
Energy costs will be lowered, economic growth kick-started through major public investment, a national wealth fund introduced to promote the investment in major automotive factories and our steel industry. The House of Commons will see reform too, with an immediate complete ban on paid advisory and lobbying roles. Forests, like ours, will be protected and expanded, with new planting initiatives for millions of British tress, and greater protections for the UK’s woodlands.
And this is just the start. Labour has a plan to turn the tables on 14 years of Tory chaos and introduce a new future for the UK and all its people. Help elect Matt Bishop for The Forest of Dean, to make that happen.
