Dale Vince OBE, Founder of Ecotricity is backing Forest Labour candidate, Matt Bishop, saying it’s the greenest option for those who want to tackle the climate crisis. Ecotricity is based in Gloucestershire and is Britain’s greenest energy company. All the electricity is certified green and vegan friendly.

Dale says, “It’s a fact of our electoral system that only Labour or the Tories can win on 4th July. So I’d say to anybody that wants to see green policies enacted or even a green government, Labour will do that and can be that. Their manifesto is truly green – with bold ambitions on green energy. If you have doubts, please lend them your vote at this vital election – I believe that they will be a truly green government, but we have to give them the chance. The alternative is unthinkable.”

Labour Candidate Matt Bishop is delighted that Dale sees the potential of a Labour government to deliver a green agenda.

“The climate and nature crisis is the greatest long-term challenge we face. The clean energy transition is a huge opportunity to generate growth, tackle the cost-of-living crisis and make Britain energy independent once again. Labour will set up Great British Energy, a new publicly owned company. It will be owned by the British people and deliver power back to the British people.

The Former Chief Scientific Advisor, Patrick Vallance, is also backing Labour’s plans: “A national mission for clean power by 2030 is achievable and should be prioritised. We desperately need to end the era of high energy bills, excessive carbon emissions and energy insecurity by accelerating the transition to clean, homegrown energy. Britain can lead on this by treating this mission like the vaccine challenge.”

Matt says “All polling in the Forest of Dean shows it’s a choice between me or Mark Harper. If you want change and want to see green policies, a vote for Labour is the way forward.”
